WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Ezekiel Ministries began in 2009 as a service project in a long-forgotten community called “The Gates” in Columbia, SC. Infamous for criminal activity, unsafe housing, and harsh conditions, the neighborhood was often referred to as the “Gates of Hell.” As volunteers labored on the site and spent more and more time around the neighborhood kids, one thing became clear:
Kids in hard places need consistent relationships with a network of safe, loving adults.
The Mission Comes Alive
What started as a small mentoring effort in Columbia has grown into a multi-site ministry serving hundreds of children annually across Richland and Lexington Counties through a combination of Group Mentoring and One-to-One Mentoring.
Our Journey of Growth
For more than fifteen years, God has used ordinary believers—volunteers, churches, mentors, and staff—to create safe, supportive environments where kids are known, valued, and pointed to Jesus. Today, Ezekiel Ministries continues to build on that foundation, equipping and empowering the Church to walk alongside children who are navigating challenging circumstances, helping them grow in faith, relationships, identity, purpose, and the life skills they need to thrive and pursue God’s best for their lives.
