Is my child old enough to be in Group Mentoring?

Group Mentoring is available for kids ages K-8. Our program is split into two age groups to better serve the kids at their age levels. Kids K-5 participate in our after-school group mentoring program. Kids grades 6-8 get to be part of our NextGen peer-mentoring program.

How much does Group Mentoring cost?

Group Mentoring is designed to be affordable and accessible to families in the communities we serve. Group Mentoring costs $15/wk per child + $5 per additional child. Maximum: $30/wk.

How do I request a mentor for my child?

Mentoring starts by enrolling your child in our Group Mentoring program. Our goal is to offer a 1:1 Mentor for every child in our Group Mentoring program. Kids start with Group Mentoring in order for us to provide them with a broad network of support; from there, we offer and encourage kids to request a 1:1 Mentor for even deeper mentoring connection and relational investment.

How many kids can be in a Group Mentoring program?

Ezekiel Ministries currently serves 30 kids per site. We do this to maintain a healthy ratio (1:10) of staff to kids (not including mentors). Our goal is to make sure kids are safe and mentors have the capacity to build connection with kids through personal attention, interaction, and engagement. Each site can grow to accommodate more than 30 students, with the hiring of additional Group Mentoring Counselors.

When does Group Mentoring happen?

Our Group Mentoring sites hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM (EST).

What schools do you currently pick up from?

We currently pick up from the following schools:

  • Carver-Lyon Elementary
  • Watkins-Nance Elementary
  • Lexington Elementary
  • Red Bank Elementary
  • White Knoll Elementary

Note: Parents/Guardians are responsible for picking their children up each day when Group Mentoring concludes.

Don’t see your school listed? Let’s talk!

There are 24 public schools within our service area. Our goal is to continue growing the number of schools we serve. That starts through conversations with school administrators, teachers, and parents. If you’d like to see your school be part of our Group Mentoring program, let’s talk!

Who are the mentors?

Mentors are carefully vetted members of local churches who are passionate about regularly showing up for kids. They are parents, grandparents, business owners, recent college graduates, retirees, and everything in between. Group Mentoring is all about serving kids with a broad, diverse network of safe, loving adults who follow Jesus.

What is 1:1 Mentoring?

1:1 Mentoring is an opportunity for one child and one mentor to build closer mentoring connection. A 1:1 Mentor spends 1 hour each week with their mentee out in the community for a simple, fun mentor outing. Whether it’s going for coffee, playing games, throwing a ball, going fishing, or making crafts, the goal of each outing is to be a simple, easy platform for mentors to build connection through quality time and help kids experience Jesus through sincere relational investment.

I have a different question. Who can I talk to?

Whether you have questions, need support, or want to explore opportunities—our team is just a message away.
