Become a Mentor

4 Hours Per Month Can Change A Generation.

We all remember someone who made a lasting impact in our life. That one adult who showed up, listened, and guided you during a crucial time in your life. That great need still exists today.

Ezekiel Ministries’ mentors are reshaping children’s futures. Through just 4 hours each month, adults like you are building deep connections to kids who need to know they matter, that God sees them, and that they belong.

About our mentors

Our mentoring programs exist because of quality, Jesus-following adults.

  • 21+ years of age.
  • At least a 1 year commitment (at least 4 hours per month.)
  • Actively involved in a local church.
  • Resident of Richland/Lexington counties for at least one year.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
  • Able to attend New Mentor Interest Meeting and Mentor Workshop.

Volunteer Opportunities

Our network of loving mentors is comprised of caring adult volunteers who are committed to seeing kids flourish.
Check out some of the opportunities to serve kids in the Midlands:

GROUP MENTORING – ALL SITES

GROUP MENTORING VOLUNTEER

At least 1.5 hrs/wk – all sites
Group Mentoring takes place at least once or more every week at an afterschool site. Volunteers are paired up with a group of children for enrichment activities. Group Mentors are trained and equipped to do their foreseeable tasks. There may be additional opportunities to drive the bus, shop/prepare snack, and help with set up and clean up.

NEXTGEN

VOLUNTEERS & FACILITATORS

At least 3 hrs/wk – NextGen
NextGen takes place once a week at a group mentoring site. At NextGen, you will help facilitate enrichment activities, peer to peer mentoring, and Teen Talk with a group of middle school children. All NextGen volunteers will be trained and equipped by the NextGen Director prior to their start date.

Opportunities to serve:
2:30-5:30pm
Mondays: Columbia: Two Notch site (located at Grace Church in Columbia)
Tuesdays: Lexington site (located at Radius Church in Lexington)
Wednesdays: White knoll site (located at Radius Church in White Knoll)

ADMINISTRATION – Ezekiel Ministries Office

Administrative Volunteer

At least 1 hr/wk – 1414 Lady Street, Columbia, SC 29201
Administrative volunteers will work one-to-one with our administrative staff to help with fundraising events, donor data related tasks, card writing, and organizational functions. This volunteer role will take place within the office of Ezekiel Ministries.

EVENTS

Committee Member

At least 3 hrs/mo
Committee member volunteers work with staff to help with fundraising events, securing sponsorships, and inviting people to attend Ezekiel Ministries events. This volunteer role takes place at the office of Ezekiel Ministries and at other venues. In-person and virtual meetings may be held.

Full-Time

Mentor Site Director

The Site Director leads one Ezekiel Ministries Group Mentoring Site that meets after school, ensuring a safe, joyful, and Christ-centered environment where children grow in faith, identity, relationships and empowerment. The site director will have a portfolio of mentors and volunteers to engage and coach to ensure that both the 1:1 Mentoring and Group Mentoring components of the site are thriving.

Reports to: Director of Programs
Full-Time: Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., with occasional evening/weekend events.

Part-Time

Group Mentoring Counselor

We are now accepting applications for the following Group Mentoring sites: White Knoll
Number of days available per week varies depending on site.

Location: White Knoll
Part-Time: 20 hours per week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
